Why "Notch Eight" Farms?

Paying homage to the rich railroading history of the region, Notch Eight is the highest power setting or throttle position on a locomotive engine, representing the maximum engine output and speed. We are an agile agrarian start-up looking to provide the best output we can for our supporters and customers. We pursue accelerated growth stabilization methods such as green housing, propagation of clippings, hydroponics, rapid dehydration of dried foods, flash freezing, canning and pickling. We move smoothly to move quickly, gliding through data-informed time-honored practices to efficiently deliver the best product possible.

About the Farm:

Located in southern Clark County, Notch Eight operates a 4-acre vegetable, fruit, houseplant, and flower farm, focusing on sustainable, organic, and ethical production to serve local markets, restaurants, and individual consumers. Our farm features greenhouses for year-round production, shelf-stable culinary goods, chef-developed meal kits, and a food cart offering processed foods made from farm-grown produce for local events.

  • Intern Program:

This Summer we are thrilled to host Seraphina Jane, a Clark County artist for our Media Residency Program. Seraphina Jane and her mother Elle joined our team as a way to connect with nature, encourage love and respect for our environment, and replace cruelty with kindness. Seraphina Jane recently showcased her talents in the county library, school open houses, and is now engaged in multiple student art competitions. We're excited to share her works created at Notch Eight this Summer.
